Sophia's 10th Birthday. This is a big one. Double digits. So I wanted her birthday to be special this year. We decided to have her first ever sleepover. We had soo much fun! I made these cute lemon cake pops for the party. Sophia loves lemon flavor, just like her Momma. :) I do love how these cake pops turned out, but I will confess to you that they took every ounce of patience that I had and more. Ha ha. They kept falling off the stick. It was very difficult and time consuming. But once I got the hang of what I was doing, it went much smoother. I had never made cake pops before.
We are ready for the party to begin!
The first friends arrived.
The first thing they did was decorate pillow cases with fabric markers.
Then it was time for pizza and roasting marshmallows outside. Mamaw came to the party to hang out for a little bit. Another friend arrived during the marshmallow roast.
At dark, we came inside and opened presents. Mamaw made this quilt for Sophia.
Then we painted nails.
Cake time!
I love these girls. So thankful that Sophia has sweet friends.
Now it was time for our fashion show. I had already gotten together a pile of my scarves, hats, gloves, dresses, shirts, shoes, and I let them put together their own unique outfits. Then we did a little fashion show where I announced their name and they walked out in character. It was so fun!
Outfit change!
The night ended late with a movie. And then cereal, talking, and a game of Twister in the morning. It was a fun first sleepover party.
Every year (since they were 4 years old), I ask the kids these questions on their birthday and type out their exact answers. I actually asked Sophia her questions this year on the day before her birthday, since Sunday was going to be such a busy day. I love that I started this tradition. I love to go back and look at their answers. Here are her answers this year!

2. What makes Mommy happy? When I give her hugs and kisses.
3. What makes Mommy sad? When I say I don't love her.
4. How does Mommy make you laugh? She tickles me and when she tells funny jokes and makes funny faces.
5. What was Mommy like as a child? She was good at jump-roping, and she was very obedient. At least, I think. She loved to read.
6. How old is Mommy? 36
7. How tall is Mommy? 5 foot 5.
8. What is Mommy's favorite thing to do? Hang out with me, Ezra, Daddy, and Amos.
9. What does Mommy do when you're not around? Either she's cleaning or just having time for herself on her phone or something.
10. If Mommy becomes famous, what will it be for? This question is hard. Oooo, photography.
11. What is Mommy really good at? Photography
12. What is Mommy not very good at? Athletic stuff...well, with her back...because she hurt it when she did cheerleading.
13. What does Mommy do for her job? Takes care of me, Ezra, and Amos and does photography.
14. What is Mommy's favorite food? Steak. At least that's my guess. Maybe salads.
15. What makes you proud of Mommy? How hard she works to take care of us and how good she does photography.
16, If Mommy were a cartoon character, who would she be? I hate this question. (Giggles) She'd be Rarity from My Little Pony. Her element of power is kind heart. And she's a girl and works at a beauty shop and makes clothes.
17. What do you and Mommy do together? These questions. (Laughs). And go out to eat, do school, and just hang out sometimes. And play games and hang out outside sometimes.
18. How are you and Mommy the same? Same nose. Same kind of thick hair. Both love to read. Both are super obedient. (Well, I HOPE I am obedient-ish.) Both need glasses. Well, you don't need them that much, just sometimes. Both super pretty. Well, I was thinking about you, I wasn't thinking about me. I hope both are kind, loving, and caring. Both are smart. I hope I am at least. I know Mom is. Both sin, which is true. We all do. We both read the Bible and like it. I hope we both like it. I like it. I think Mom likes it. And we both love God. There are so many things I could think of. Both on our technology at least once a day. Both love our family.
19. How are you and Mommy different? Different hair color. You are a lot older and a lot taller. (Laughs) I play outside a lot, she doesn't. I can climb a tree. She doesn't because of her back. I can run fast, and she can't because of her back. She has children, I don't. (Laughs). She's married, I'm not. (Laughs again.) You like bacon and olives a lot. I only like them a little. I like peppermint, you don't. I like cantaloupe, watermelon...you don't. I'm wearing a necklace right now, she's not. I'm wearing a watch right now, she's not. She doesn't have a watch. Do you have a watch, Mommy?
20. How do you know Mommy loves you? She gives me hugs and kisses. She says so. She gets me stuff. She buys me stuff. She gave me birth. (Laughs)
21. Where is Mommy's favorite place to go? Heaven. My favorite place to go is heaven.
22. What makes you happy? When I get presents. When I get older. When somebody tickles me. When we pray about something, and God answers it. To go out to eat with my family and hang out with my family. Especially Mom.
23. What makes you sad? When people say that don't love. And when they say they don't like me even. Or when people say they don't like something I made for them. When someone dies. When someone hurts me. When God doesn't answer my prayers. (For small things. Like stuff.)
24. What makes you laugh? When someone tickles me. When someone tells me a funny joke or has a funny face. When someone accidentally does something weird, and they think it's funny too. When other people laugh. I don't know why. Sometimes it's funny when people laugh. I don't know why they're laughing, but when I know them and they are laughing it makes me laugh.
25. What is your favorite thing to do? I love going to the Jump Park or Super Fly or Chuck-E-Cheese. But Chuck-E-Cheese is getting a little boring because it feels like I've played every game. It is still fun tho.

27. What is your favorite color? Neon green

30. What is your favorite book? Little Women, Nancy Drew, Sign of the Beaver, The Whipping Boy, Pocahontas and the Strangers
Happy Birthday, Sophia! 10 years of you has made the world a beautiful place. We love you so very much and are so thankful to God for you!
This was taken on her actual birthday. A mommy/daughter date at BWW. I think she is so very lovely.
